JESSIE RICHARDSON

RCC #20598

Jessie is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC – #20598).

She spent a year under the supervision and training of Sheila in the school system and was hired as a school counsellor the following year. Jessie has attended training with Madeleine de Little in Neuroscience in the Sand Tray.

She is also an Internal Family Systems informed therapist. Jessie uses her training as a certified yoga instructor as part of the counselling process.  Jessie’s work is informed by Internal Family Systems, Neuroscience and Attachment theory. Children, adolescents, and adults work with various modalities including: art, sand, play, movement, talk and mindfulness practices. It is through these modalities that clients develop the safety to explore challenges and embody their authentic self.

Jessie has worked in the school system for 20 years. She was an elementary school teacher for 16 years, followed by 2 years as a school district coordinator and more recently she is in her second year of school counselling. She is also currently part-time employed as a district social emotional learning coordinator. Her continued employment in schools enhances her ability to connect with children and families as she has a clear understanding of the structure and routines. Jessie has experience working with neurodiversity as well as medical diagnoses.

Meeting people where they are at is essential to Jessie’s therapeutic practice. Wherever you are on your journey, she comes alongside with both compassion and care. Jessie understands that there are many paths and paces when pursuing healing.  She encourages and empowers clients to lead the way and set the pace that works best for them. With an open heart and curiosity, Jessie provides the support needed to make progress on the healing journey.
